I learnt today that it is illegal in the United Kingdom to sell Grey Squirrels. One of several thousand criminal offences created in the past few years. I find it very reassuring that Her Majesty's Government is protecting us from the menace of Grey Squirrel merchants.
Having said that I can't help thinking it is a rascist law; I mean what about Red Squirrels ? Although I'm not sure which race is being discriminated against: the Grey Squirrels or the Red Squirrels ?
You can buy a dead one but not a live one, so the key is to kill it first, which is legal, then, in death, it becomes valuable
